Marika has always considered herself to be a songwriter who tells stories through her music. She is an independent artist who has experienced success from both albums, Surrender and Dream.
She attended Canadian Country Music Week in the fall of 2000/2002 and distributed her first album, Surrender. She signed with Starbiz Entertainment and her songs crossed over to country music, receiving favourable airplay in western Canada and in Europe.
Her CD, Dream features four great tunes: Memory Lane, Endlessly, Carry You In My Wings, and Doors of Faith.
Her singles, Endlessly and Memory Lane climbed the Country Music Charts! Endlessly hit the World Charts in 2001, and Memory Lane hit the top #40 USA Independent Charts in November 2004 followed by Carry You In My Wings reaching #25 in June 2004! Both singles continue to receive airplay across the U.S.A and Europe with Comstock Records based out of Arizona, U.S.A.
Her new single Catch Me if You Can! Is an upbeat, dance tune with a pop/country feel – a catchy tune for any artist to sing! It’s about a thief who decides to steal someone’s heart.
She’s The Lucky One and A Gift On Christmas Night are two new tunes recently written for Cherly Dunn’s Emmanuel White Christmas album.
Marika’s tune, She’s The Lucky One, Cheryl’s first single, charted at #5 in the UK charts! Recently singer Cheryl Dunn, has received a nomination for her EMMANUEL WHITE CHRISTMAS in the Seasonal Album of the Year! The single written for Cheryl, “She’s The Lucky One” stayed on the European charts for 18 weeks!
Marika has an interesting way of writing about life events using lyrics with a mainstream country feel. “I feel as though I have found my ‘niche’ you could say. Country music is a great style for me. I enjoy releasing my singles and writing for artists! All of my songs are based on stories. It’s a perfect fit,” says Marika.
